“Brighten Your Winter – Be Creative!” FAD series

          

 

Invitation to participate in FREE Family Art Days at home!

Fun for the whole family-in your home!   The San Juan Islands Museum of Art (SJIMA) offers take-home Family Art Packs designed by art instructor, Lana Hickman.

During January and March families can pre-register to pick up packets for each week’s at-home FAD each Saturday from 1:00-3:00 pm for the projects listed below.  Have fun picking out all or any of the classes.

Introducing our “Brighten Your Winter – Be Creative!”  series:

January  30 –  LABYRINTHS:  Drawing and winding your way through mazes.

February 6 –   SPACE-AGE 3D COLLAGES:  An artistic use for recyclables.

February 13 –  MAPMAKING:  Traveling in our imaginations with mixed media.

February 20 – POLAR BEARS AND ICEBERGS:  Creating sculptures with paper.

February 27 – LIVING BIOSPHERE:  Nurturing plants in a contained environment.

March 6  –      DUTCH BOUQUET:  Cutting out and arranging colorful paper flowers.

March 13 –     COFFEE CAN CYLINDER SEAL: Making impressions with a design in relief.

March   20  –   LAVA LAMP: Bringing color to life with light and mixed media.

March 27 –      BUILDING BIRD NESTS: Using play dough and natural materials.

Supplies are limited, so register early!

All necessary safety precautions will be in place-please wear masks or we can provide ones. SJIMA is located at 540 Spring Street. Lana will be there to greet you and answer questions.
