Bruce started his life in Michigan, but he soon moved with his family to Puyallup Washington area in 1953. He was schooled in the Puyallup School District, continued his education in junior colleges and colleges, eventually earning a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Fire Training.
In 45 years of career firefighting he had training in decision-making, leadership, teaching, logistics, tactics and problem solving.
He has had a long interest in Photography and carving in wood and other mediums. Brought up by parents who were very talented in many art forms, he was exposed to the fine appreciation of art through his developing years.
He has taken many college classes in art appreciation and design.
His photographs have won numerous ribbons and awards both local and international.
Among his many hobbies photography, woodworking and traveling are his favorites. Building custom furniture and art pieces keeps him busy when he is not traveling around the world and photographing.
Some recent trips were to Spain where he walked the El Camino de Frances (670 miles), Costa Rica (bird photography), Alaska (Brown bear photography) Africa (Bird and animal photography) and numerous places in the US looking for the perfect Animal or bird photograph.
