Docent Tours

SJIMA is now offering tours during regular museum hours. Led by an experienced docent, private tours offer an in-depth look at the museum’s exhibitions lending a rich conversation about the art and artists on view. Private tours are limited to 20 people per tour and can be customized to meet your group’s needs.

School Groups

We can accommodate groups of up to 20 visitors at any one time. For K-5th grade groups, we require a ratio of one chaperone per five students. For 6-12th grade, we require a minimum of one chaperone per ten students. All students under the age of 18 are admitted for free. Chaperones pay the entry fee if not a museum member. If your group is larger than 20, please contact us to discuss your needs.

Adult Groups

Adult groups who are not members of the museum pay the recommended entry of $10/per person. Museum members always have free admission and Mondays are “Pay What You Can Days.” If your group is larger than 20, please contact us to discuss your needs.  Please allow a minimum of five days advance notice of your preferred tour date.
