docent

BECOME A DOCENT

YEAR-ROUND OR SEASONAL PARTICIPATION

Become part of the SJIMA adventure!

If you enjoy art and are able to spare a few hours a month, you might love volunteering as a docent at the San Juan Island Museum of Art.

Experience one-on-one interaction with artists and art lovers from around the world. Acquire in-depth knowledge of nationally acclaimed artists and their work. Open the eyes of children and tour groups to the joys of art.

Being a docent enables you to learn about exciting and ever-changing art exhibitions, share your knowledge with visitors from near and far, and become a part of a community of people committed to educating and inspiring others through art.  You don’t need to be an artist or have an art background to be a part of this; we provide training!

I'm Interested!

If interested, please either complete the contact form to the right or give us a call at 360-370-5050. We can arrange to give you a tour of the museum, tell you more about what it means to be a docent and answer any questions you may have.
