SJIMA offers this special workshop for any one who wants to take advantage of the one of the hottest ways to show art today!-no matter the medium, two-dimensional or three-dimensional art. Transforming your art is fun! You will leave with your own samples on wood panels, travertine and a selection of slate stone tiles. People of all skill levels are welcome.
DATE: Sunday, August 26th 1-5 p.m.
LOCATION: San Juan Islands Museum of Art, Friday Harbor, WA
Class size is limited, and registration is on a first-come-first-served basis. There is a $15 materials fee collected at the workshop.
Ray Pfortner has been working in professional photography for over 20 years – as educator, agent, editor, consultant, and photographer. He has been the Director of Education at Seattle’s Photographic Center Northwest. His primary interest is in coaching new talent. You can view samples of Ray’s work at www.raypfortner.com.
What to bring to the workshop: 10 laser photocopies of your art from any commercial store, like Printonyx, Staples or FedEx. Not from a photo print and not an ink jet copy from a home printer. These need to be flipped horizontally as a digital file to the left-right orientations if you wish, since the photocopies are placed face down on the wax and substrate. Use only normal photocopy paper, not card of cover stock. Ideally these should be sized a 1/4 inch larger than the short side of the substrate. Panels are 5 x 7 inches, stone tiles are 3 x 5 inches and 4 x 4 inches. Feel free to email Ray with questions if you have registered for the workshop. Email – firstname.lastname@example.org
