DEEP DIVE: The Documentaries

Event Day: July 13, 2019 from 9:30 AM – 5:00 PM

Location: San Juan Community Theatre – 100 2nd Street North,

Friday Harbor, WA

“DEEP DIVE: the documentaries” showcases current, thought provoking documentaries about issues unique to the Salish Sea and mingles them with art that speaks for the voiceless. Each showing will be followed by a 15-minute Q&A with the videographers or people in the video. Facilitators are Dr. Deborah Giles, Karin Roemers-Kleven and Snow Seychelle. At the end of the day we wrap up with a call to action to make at least one change in how we use the fragile waters around us to protect what we love.

This is a satellite event of the DEEP DIVE exhibition at San Juan Islands Museum of Art, which uses art as a voice to illustrate the beauty and the challenges of the Salish Sea. The exhibit is open from June 14 to September 15, 2019.

In order to make it easy for everyone to attend this important symposium, we have decided to make this a Pay-As-You-Can event. We deeply thank you and appreciate any donations you may make to help cover the costs of this event. Donations of $25.00 can be made online at, other amounts can be made at the reception desk at SJIMA during regular hours, or at the door on Saturday, July 13. Doors open at 9 am.
